Parking

Please everyone, don't use the snow as an excuse to park wherever you fancy on the High Street. It's bad enough that people snarl up the centre of town on a Sunday, but its unforgiveable during the week. It turns the High Street into a single track road between Pump Corner and Halfords, with traffic having to wait its turn.
Common sense , people, come on!!
PS I walk in from where I live, but its annoying to when I have to use my car, like getting to the doctors this morning.

  1. Since the first snow fall, Dorking has ground to a complete halt because of all the inconsiderate parkers on the high street. I have noticed countless people who have parked in bus stops, dangerously close to corners of major junctions and even across the zebra crossing outside Waitrose! This is absolutely disgusting and wish the parking wardens were out in force to stop this lazy, inconsiderate and dangerous behaviour. The high street has ground to a complete halt most days as these 'people' continually flout the double yellow lines and have no regard for the pedestrians trying to get around the town. I am six months pregnant and I was almost mown down by a driver who thought it was smart to race down Dene Street at 80mph, mount the pavements and perform doughnuts and handbrake turns during broad daylight. It was a miracle that this teenage idiot and his friends did not kill anybody!! When I reported this matter to the police, I was told to report to the police station in a week or so, when the neighbourhood specialist officer for Dorking would be back on duty! Thanks for absolutely nothing Surrey Police. Jo

  2. Agreed. There is nothing anyone can do that better displays their selfish and inconsiderate attitude to the rest of us than lazy parking.
If I ruled the world, bad parking would be a capital offence.
